Head out and celebrate the fall season this weekend on the Rose Kennedy Greenway.
This Sunday, October 7, the Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts presents the third annual Boston Local Food Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Enjoy the day listening to music from local bands, watching demonstrations by local chefs and food experts; participate in workshops, arts & crafts and much more all while overlooking historic Boston Harbor.
The best part? Admission is free and everything at the festival is $5 or less! Food and fun, affordable for the whole family. All participating vendors and sponsors are required to source their ingredients from within New England. Additionally, the Boston Local Food Festival is a “Zero Waste” event, which means that all refuse is required to be biodegrable, compostable, or recycleable! It is the first annual festival of its kind!
This year’s festival is set to be bigger and better then ever and should not be missed! Some highlights to check out are chef cooking demos, “Seafood Throwdown,” how to butcher and cook a whole lamb and pig, tips for local plant foraging, family fun zone, DIY brewing and preserving demos, and a home garden crop share!
BBL recommends you mark your calendars and arrive early for this can’t miss event. This festival is open to those of all ages and welcomes Bored Bostonians and Beantown Beginners alike.
The festival is located on the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway – from Atlantic Avenue to Oliver Street.
Parking – 75 State Street Garage – Entrance located at 5 Broad St, Boston. $10 parking is available for the festival with this coupon.
